Job Description

We are on the lookout for a skilled Chemical Engineer to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in chemical processes and a passion for innovation. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing chemical processes, ensuring safety standards are met, and working collaboratively with a diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Lead process design projects from concept through implementation.
• Conduct feasibility studies for new projects and initiatives.
• Develop and maintain process flow diagrams and mass balance calculations.
• Perform root cause analysis for process failures and develop corrective actions.
• Work with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with legal standards.
• Assist in budgeting and resource allocation for projects.
• Collaborate with the safety team to ensure a safe working environment.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and technology advancements.
• Mentor and guide junior staff within the engineering team.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
• Master's degree in Chemical Engineering is an asset

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a chemical manufacturing setting
