Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Examine and diagnose animal health and medical conditions.
  • Administer treatments, perform surgery, and monitor patients.
  • Engage in client education regarding pet care and wellness.
  • Work alongside a team to improve clinic operations and patient care.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development.
  • Develop and implement animal care protocols within the clinic.
  • Assess and manage pain in surgical and critically ill patients.
  • Provide emergency care and critical interventions when necessary.
  • Lead outreach initiatives to promote responsible pet ownership.
  • Collaborate with local shelters for spay/neuter programs.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine
  • Registered with the South African Veterinary Council
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in veterinary medicine, with surgical experience preferred
