Responsibilities
Examine and diagnose animal health and medical conditions.
Administer treatments, perform surgery, and monitor patients.
Engage in client education regarding pet care and wellness.
Work alongside a team to improve clinic operations and patient care.
Participate in continuing education and professional development.
Develop and implement animal care protocols within the clinic.
Assess and manage pain in surgical and critically ill patients.
Provide emergency care and critical interventions when necessary.
Lead outreach initiatives to promote responsible pet ownership.
Collaborate with local shelters for spay/neuter programs.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine
Registered with the South African Veterinary Council
Experience
3+ years of experience in veterinary medicine, with surgical experience preferred
