Job Description

As a General Practitioner in Durban, you will provide primary and continuing healthcare to patients, attend to their medical needs, and ensure a high standard of care. Your role is pivotal in diagnosing illnesses, prescribing treatment, and promoting health education within the community.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient histories and perform comprehensive examinations.
• Diagnose diseases based on clinical findings and tests.
• Advise on preventative care, such as vaccinations.
• Coordinate with healthcare team members for holistic care.
• Document patient interactions and treatment plans accurately.
• Offer support to patients with chronic conditions to manage their health.
• Assist in coordinating care for patients needing specialist attention.
• Participate in community outreach programs focused on health education.
• Engage in research to enhance clinical practices.
• Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and policies.

Requirements

Education

• MBChB or equivalent medical degree
• Additional qualifications in Family Medicine or similar are an advantage

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years in a clinical setting
