Job Description

We are in search of a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our Cape Town office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating and analyzing applicants' insurance risks to determine coverage and premiums. This role involves considerable analytical skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders throughout the underwriting process.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate insurance applications to determine risk levels.
• Analyze applicant data and identify any red flags.
• Calculate premiums and coverage amounts based on risk assessment.
• Prepare reports detailing underwriting findings.
• Collaborate with sales teams to understand market trends.
• Maintain insurance policy records and documentation.
• Review and update current insurance policies for clients as needed.
• Communicate with clients to clarify information and gather additional data.
• Advise clients on insurance implications and cover options.
• Comply with industry regulations and company policies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Finance, or related field
• Postgraduate qualification is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years in underwriting or risk management roles
