Job Description

As a Power Plant Operator, you will assist in the operation and monitoring of equipment to ensure the efficient functioning of our manufacturing processes. You play a crucial role in maintaining safety standards and supporting the main operator.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant operations and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Assist the team in optimizing machinery performance to enhance productivity.
• Document maintenance activities and report on equipment status.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback.
• Ensure materials are available for production to prevent downtimes.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams for scheduled checks.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss production goals and strategies.

Requirements

Education

• Matric/Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
• Relevant vocational training

Experience

• Some experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of HMI systems
• Basic troubleshooting skills

Soft Skills

• Team collaboration
• Good communication skills

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

• Experience with lean manufacturing principles: Knowledge of lean methodologies can improve operational efficiencies.
