Job Description

The Laboratory Animal Facility Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory animal facility. This role entails ensuring compliance with all regulatory and ethical standards while managing a team of animal care technicians.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations ensuring optimal conditions for laboratory animals.
• Implement and monitor compliance with practices and policies related to animal welfare.
• Train and supervise the animal care team, promoting best practices.
• Recordkeeping and documentation to comply with industry regulations.
• Collaborate with research staff to align animal usage with study requirements.
• Facilitate regular audits and inspections.
• Develop and review standard operating procedures.
• Monitor animal health indicators and address any concerns.
• Ensure a clean and secure facility environment.
• Participate in budget management and resource allocation.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Laboratory Animal Science, Biology, or related field is preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a laboratory environment with supervisory duties.
