Freight Forwarder

Job Description

As a Freight Forwarder, you'll coordinate the movement of goods across international borders, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations while liaising between shippers and freight carriers. Your role is crucial in managing shipping documentation and customs clearance, guaranteeing timely delivery and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Oversee logistics and transportation processes for various commodities.
• Negotiate rates and contracts with freight carriers.
• Provide customer support for shipping inquiries and resolutions.
• Track and report shipment statuses to stakeholders.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of shipping regulations and market trends.
• Prepare monthly reports on shipping activities and performance metrics.

Requirements

Education

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is an advantage

Experience

• 3+ years in a freight handling or logistics role

Technical Skills

• Customs Regulations Knowledge
• Freight Software Proficiency

Soft Skills

• Teamwork

Certifications

• Certified International Freight Forwarder (CIFF)
• Certificate in Logistics and Transport

Languages

• English: Fluent
