Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Structural Engineer to join our Johannesburg office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing safe and efficient structures, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural models and simulations using software like AutoCAD and SAP2000.
• Review and assess contractor proposals for structural work.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns on project tasks.
• Conduct research and stay updated on industry trends and technologies.
• Participate in project meetings and design reviews to provide engineering insights.
• Facilitate effective communication between all project stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot engineering issues that arise during construction.
• Document and archive project designs and modifications.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field
• Master's degree is advantageous

Experience

• 5 years of experience in the structural design field

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis
• Microsoft Project

Certifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent
