Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design and project management, with excellent problem-solving skills to tackle complex engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design projects from concept through completion.
• Ensure quality control throughout all stages of design and production.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and interns.
• Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for project execution.
• Document design modifications and changes throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
• Postgraduate qualifications are preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and engineering

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• ANSYS

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Registered Engineer (REng) status
• Certified Six Sigma Green Belt

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in Renewable Energy Projects: Hands-on experience in projects related to renewable energy systems.
• Proficiency in Data Analysis Tools: Experience with data analysis tools such as MATLAB or Python for engineering applications.
