Cybersecurity Analyst (SOC)

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a skilled Cybersecurity Analyst to join our SOC team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with security monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and correlate security events to identify potential threats.
• Implement and manage security monitoring tools.
• Respond to and mitigate security incidents effectively.
• Prepare incident reports and maintain logs for compliance.
• Support continuous improvement of the SOC operational capabilities.
• Participate in security exercises and drills to ensure readiness.
• Engage in threat-hunting activities to proactively discover vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with external partners on threat intelligence.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP are preferred.

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in a SOC or cybersecurity role

Technical Skills

• SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, ELK)
• Incident response protocols
• Vulnerability assessment tools
• Firewall and intrusion detection systems (IDS)

Soft Skills

• Analytical thinking

Certifications

• CompTIA Security+
• Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

Languages

• English: Fluent
