Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Plastics Engineer to join our dynamic team in Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and production of various plastic products, ensuring they meet high-quality standards and comply with industry regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and oversee testing of plastic parts.
• Create detailed project plans and timelines for product development.
• Implement waste reduction initiatives and optimise processes.
• Utilise CAD software to create precise product designs.
• Conduct root cause analysis for production defects and implement solutions.
• Assist with the training and development of manufacturing staff.
• Monitor expenditures and optimise resource management.
• Report on project progress to senior management.
• Engage with suppliers to source materials and negotiate costs.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• Professional certification in Plastics Engineering is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years in a similar role in the manufacturing industry
