Biomass Power Plant Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Biomass Power Plant Manager to oversee the operations and maintenance of our biomass power facility in Durban. The role involves managing a team of technicians, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, optimizing plant performance, and developing strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all maintenance activities to ensure the plant runs smoothly and efficiently.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Work closely with procurement to manage inventory and equipment orders.
• Assess and manage vendor relationships for maintenance supplies and services.
• Optimize resource allocation to achieve operational goals.
• Guide the team in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to plant operations.
• Facilitate regular safety meetings and training sessions.
• Participate in the development of policies and procedures related to plant maintenance.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff and technicians.
• Ensure alignment of plant operations with overall company sustainability goals.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Professional certifications in maintenance management are preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance management or plant operations
