API Developer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced API Developer to join our Cape Town team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs that serve our diverse range of applications. Your expertise in API technologies will be crucial in enhancing our systems and improving our product offerings. Responsibilities

• Architect and implement new APIs based on business needs.
• Maintain existing APIs by updating and debugging issues.
• Ensure full compliance with security policies while developing APIs.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to deliver a seamless user experience.
• Review and improve code quality to adhere to best practices.
• Provide technical support to internal stakeholders and clients.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Master's degree is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in API software development

Technical Skills

• RESTful API Development
• Databases (SQL & NoSQL)
• Microservices Architecture
• Cloud Services (AWS, Azure)

Soft Skills

• Creative Problem Solving
• Time Management

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in Agile Environments: Prior experience working in Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of GraphQL: Understanding of GraphQL as an alternative to REST APIs.
