API Developer

We are seeking an experienced API Developer to join our Cape Town team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs that serve our diverse range of applications. Responsibilities

• Develop scalable APIs for mobile and web applications.
• Integrate third-party services into existing applications using APIs.
• Adopt and implement agile methodologies in project management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve API failures to maintain reliable services.
• Work closely with the product team to define API requirements.
• Research and implement new API technologies to enhance system capabilities.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Master's degree is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in API software development

Technical Skills

• RESTful API Development
• Databases (SQL & NoSQL)
• Microservices Architecture
• Cloud Services (AWS, Azure)

Soft Skills

• Creative Problem Solving
• Time Management

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes: Familiarity with containerized development and orchestration.
