Job Description

We are on the lookout for a talented Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in cloud computing technologies and DevOps methodologies. You will be responsible for designing and deploying cloud systems that are reliable, scalable, and secure, while also collaborating with our development teams to implement best practices in cloud architecture.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage cloud-based solutions that fulfill business requirements.
• Ensure scalability and reliability of cloud services.
• Work closely with IT security to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
• Provide technical guidance on cloud services to other team members.
• Participate in designing disaster recovery strategies for cloud systems.
• Help maintain documentation for cloud architecture and processes.
• Engage in continuous improvement of cloud practices and methodologies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering

Experience

• 5+ years in cloud or related engineering roles

Technical Skills

• Google Cloud Platform
• Ansible

Soft Skills

• Project management
• Proactive mindset

Certifications

• Certified Kubernetes Administrator

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with continuous integration tools: Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or CircleCI is a plus.
• Knowledge of database systems: Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
