Job Description

We are on the lookout for a skilled Veterinary Surgeon who will be responsible for diagnosing and treating various animals. You will work in a busy practice, providing high-quality surgical and medical care, ensuring excellent patient care, and maintaining the well-being of our animal patients.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical exams and take patient histories.
  • Perform diagnostic testing and analyze lab results.
  • Operate and maintain medical equipment.
  • Educate pet owners about animal care and proactive health measures.
  • Participate in continuing education to enhance skills.
  • Assist in emergency cases and treatment procedures.
  • Document patient information accurately and timely.
  • Work cooperatively with other members of the veterinary team.
  • Participate in community outreach and educational events.
  • Manage case follow-ups to ensure effective treatment.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor of Veterinary Science or equivalent
  • Registered with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC)
Experience
  • 4+ years of experience in veterinary practice, specifically in surgery and emergency care.
