Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our Pretoria office. The ideal candidate will have experience in assessing risks and determining policy terms. This role requires excellent analytical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate risk exposures and determine appropriate coverage.
• Prepare and deliver underwriting reports to management.
• Implement underwriting policies in alignment with company standards.
• Address policyholder inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
• Assess market conditions to inform pricing strategies.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with claims adjusters to assess claim validity.
• Participate in client meetings to discuss insurance needs.
• Review statistical data to inform decision-making.
• Support marketing initiatives to promote insurance products.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management or related field
• FCII or equivalent qualifications are preferred

Experience

• 4+ years experience in underwriting or a related field

Certifications

• Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute

Languages

• English: Fluent
