Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our finance team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, and overseeing financial reporting. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and excellent analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial reports, including variance analysis.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.
• Assist with tax compliance and prepare relevant filings.
• Provide input for strategic financial planning.
• Support risk management through financial assessments.
• Maintain financial records in compliance with company policies.
• Serve as a liaison for financial queries from other departments.
• Utilize accounting software effectively for reporting.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relevant field
• Master's degree in Finance is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience

Technical Skills

• Tax Compliance
• Budgeting and Forecasting

Soft Skills

• Analytical Skills
• Project Management

Certifications

• Registered Financial Planner (RFP)
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Knowledge of international accounting standards: Expertise in IFRS or GAAP principles is a plus.
• Prior experience in financial analysis roles: Involvement in analyzing financial performance and reporting.
