Job Description

As an Urban Planner in Durban, you'll collaborate with city officials, engineers, and community stakeholders to develop plans for land use in urban areas. You will utilize your expertise to ensure that new developments are sustainable and meet the needs of local communities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee urban development projects from inception to completion.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for new urban initiatives.
  • Collaborate with municipal departments to integrate land use policies.
  • Review and advise on zoning changes and urban renewal projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of grant proposals for funding urban planning initiatives.
  • Promote sustainable practices in urban design and infrastructure.
  • Implement community feedback mechanisms to improve urban planning processes.
  • Develop workshops and training for local communities on urban planning initiatives.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Planning or related discipline
Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in urban planning or consultancy
