Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Architect to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. You will be involved in various innovative projects that require creativity and architectural expertise. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients to understand their needs and transform them into exceptional architectural designs that are not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing.

Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive architectural designs that fulfill client criteria.
• Engage with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
• Produce high-quality presentation materials for client meetings.
• Understand and apply sustainable design practices in projects.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals and bidding documents.
• Facilitate communication between clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Actively participate in design reviews and critiques.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables to ensure on-time completion.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
• Support junior architects by providing mentorship and guidance.

Requirements

Education

• Master’s degree in Architecture is preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in any design-related field acceptable

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a registered architectural firm

Technical Skills

• Building Codes
• Sustainable Design

Soft Skills

• Project Management
• Negotiation

Certifications

• Certified Interior Designer
• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• isiXhosa: Basic

Advantageous

• Knowledge of Urban Planning Principles: Awareness of urban rules and regulations governing land use.
• Experience in Design Competitions: Participation in architecture competitions will be an advantage.
