Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Legal Counsel to join our Port Elizabeth team. The role involves providing expert legal advice on a wide range of issues, drafting and reviewing contracts, and ensuring compliance with legal regulations. As a key member of our legal department, you'll play a vital role in upholding our firm's integrity and supporting our clients' needs.

Responsibilities

• Offer comprehensive legal counsel across all business units.
• Review and negotiate terms of contracts with stakeholders.
• Ensure that all company practices comply with legal standards.
• Manage and coordinate litigation and legal proceedings.
• Conduct regular legal audits to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with external legal advisors as necessary.

Requirements

Education

• LLB or equivalent legal qualification
• Postgraduate qualification in Law is advantageous

Experience

• 3-5 years' experience in a legal role within corporate or commercial law

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in Mergers and Acquisitions: Knowledge of the legal aspects of M&A transactions.
