Join our dedicated team as a Veterinary Surgeon at TopVet Animal Clinic in Pietermaritzburg. We are searching for a skilled and compassionate individual to provide high-quality surgical and medical care to a variety of animals. In this role, you'll work with a team of experienced professionals in a well-equipped facility, ensuring the health and wellbeing of our furry patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform surgery and medical procedures on animals.
• Conduct routine check-ups and examinations.
• Diagnose and treat various illnesses in pets.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Provide preventative care and vaccination programs.
• Assist with the training and supervision of junior staff.
• Stay updated with veterinary practices and advancements.
• Participate in continued education and training programs.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Veterinary Science or Veterinary Medicine
• Advanced Veterinary qualifications are preferred

Experience

• 5+ years in veterinary medicine, with a focus on surgery and internal medicine.

Certifications

• AVMA Accreditation or equivalent
• Surgical Certification is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Knowledge of veterinary drugs and anesthetics: Familiarity with various drugs and protocols used in veterinary care.
