Job Description

A Forging Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining planishing hammer machines to shape and smooth metal workpieces according to specifications. This role requires a detailed understanding of metalworking techniques and a focus on quality control.

Responsibilities

  • Control planishing hammer equipment to remove imperfections in metal surfaces.
  • Inspect and assess damaged areas to determine repair needs.
  • Use hand tools to shape and refine metal surfaces.
  • Maintain a clean work area and organized tools.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure a secure working environment.
  • Keep accurate records of production and quality control measures.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Vocational training in metalworking
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a relevant role.
