Job Description

As a Veterinarian at Leading Veterinary Clinic, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating a variety of animal health issues. You will work closely with pet owners and a dedicated team to ensure the best care for our patients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct health assessments and create individualized care plans.
• Address client concerns and questions regarding their pets.
• Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during surgery.
• Assist in training and supervising junior veterinary staff.
• Promote a culture of safety and compliance in veterinary practices.
• Manage cases of zoonotic diseases and educate the community.
• Research and implement best practices in veterinary medicine.
• Evaluate new technologies that could enhance veterinary care.
• Contribute to the overall strategic goals of the clinic.
• Mentor veterinary students and interns.

Requirements

Education

• Master of Veterinary Science (MVSc) or equivalent

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in a veterinary practice

Technical Skills

• Advanced imaging techniques
• Anesthetic management

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• SAVC Registration
• Membership with the South African Veterinary Association (SAVA)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Fluent

Advantageous

• Veterinary acupuncture or chiropractic: Ability to perform alternative therapies for animal care.
• Previous experience in emergency veterinary hospitals: A background in high-pressure clinical environments.
