Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project plans and schedules for civil engineering works.
• Collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines to achieve project goals.
• Ensure that all engineering practices and methodologies follow industry standards.
• Review and interpret engineering documents and specifications.
• Assist in the training and mentoring of junior staff and interns.
• Manage client relationships and provide regular project updates.
• Evaluate and select contractors for project execution.
• Participate in site inspections and assessments to ensure quality control.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for project stakeholders.
• Lead project meetings and effectively communicate progress and issues.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Master's degree in Civil Engineering is an asset

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in civil engineering

Technical Skills

• Surveying
• Structural Analysis

• Team Leadership
• Negotiation

Certifications

• LEED Green Associate
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Basic

Advantageous

• Experience with Infrastructure Development: Involvement in major infrastructure projects such as roads and bridges.
• Knowledge of Local Regulatory Frameworks: Demonstrated understanding of civil engineering regulations in South Africa.
