Job Description

Join our healthcare team as a Public Health Specialist in Port Elizabeth. This role will involve evaluating current health programs, collecting and analyzing health data, and proposing improvements to enhance the public's health status. You will also facilitate workshops and training sessions in community health topics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead public health initiatives that address prevalent community health issues.
  • Design materials for health education and outreach.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Evaluate health data to identify program strengths and weaknesses.
  • Promote interdepartmental collaboration for holistic care strategies.
  • Assist in policy development for public health interventions.
  • Promote vaccination and preventive health measures.
  • Participate in local health fairs and community events.
  • Facilitate focus group discussions to gather community input.
  • Provide mentorship to junior staff and interns.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health or related field
  • Master's degree in Public Health (MPH) or related is preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of work experience in public health programs or epidemiology
