Job Description

We seek a skilled Core Drill Operator to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. This role involves operating drilling equipment to collect rock or soil samples. The ideal candidate will adhere to safety protocols while ensuring quality core production.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate various types of drilling rigs.
• Collect rock and soil samples while ensuring safety and quality.
• Maintain a clean and organized work site.
• Work with a team to achieve drilling targets and project goals.
• Ensure compliance with all environmental and safety regulations.
• Assist the drilling supervisor in planning and executing drilling programmes.
• Provide mentorship to junior drillers and operators.
• Participate actively in safety meetings and training sessions.
• Utilize GPS and drilling software for efficient operations.
• Respond effectively to any emergencies or equipment failures.

Requirements

Education

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
• Certification in Drilling Operations preferred

Experience

• Experience in geotechnical drilling is a plus
