We are seeking a motivated Relief Mate to assist in navigating our vessels and ensuring the safety of crew and cargo. The ideal candidate will have experience in maritime operations and a strong understanding of navigational safety.
Responsibilities
Support the captain in navigation via GPS and ECDIS.
Conduct safety drills and ensure crew compliance with safety measures.
Assist in loading and unloading cargo while ensuring secure stowage.
Act as a point of contact for crew regarding onboard operations.
Engage with port authorities during docking and undocking procedures.
Help maintain a positive working environment onboard.
Requirements
Education
Grade 12 Certificate with Mathematics and Science
Certificate in Marine Environment Protection preferred
Experience
Experience in cargo vessel operations is advantageous.
