Transportation Planner

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Transportation Planner to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in transport planning and will be responsible for designing transportation systems that promote safe and effective mobility. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to evaluate current projects and develop innovative solutions to improve transportation efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead transportation planning projects from conception through implementation.
• Analyze data and trends to predict future transportation demands.
• Prepare detailed reports outlining project proposals and budgets.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex transportation issues.
• Promote sustainable transportation methods and practices.
• Engage with community stakeholders throughout the planning process.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and legislation affecting transportation.
• Conduct field surveys and assessments as needed.
• Create visual presentations of project plans for stakeholders.
• Assist in the development of transportation policies and regulations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Transport Engineering or a related field
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in transportation planning
