Join our Cape Town team as a Structural Engineer, where you will play a key role in the design and implementation of various structural projects. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of material properties, structural analysis, and design specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design process for various projects.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Prepare and present design proposals to clients and stakeholders.
• Conduct risk assessments and feasibility studies for proposed projects.
• Manage multiple projects while adhering to deadlines.
• Work with geotechnical engineers to assess site conditions.
• Develop innovative design solutions that enhance safety and efficiency.
• Evaluate and specify construction materials based on performance and durability.
• Provide comprehensive support during the bidding and contract negotiation phases.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in engineering technology.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of proven experience in structural engineering roles

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• STAAD Pro

Soft Skills

• Detail-oriented
• Negotiation

Certifications

• International Professional Engineer (IntPE)
• LEED Accredited Professional

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with renewable energy projects: Background in integrating renewable energy into structural designs.
