Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Legal Counsel to join our Johannesburg office at Top Legal Firm. As a Legal Counsel, you will provide advice on legal matters, including corporate governance, compliance, and litigation support. Ideal candidates will possess strong analytical abilities and a keen understanding of South African law.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal counsel on corporate matters.
• Manage relationships with external legal firms.
• Conduct audits to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Prepare and provide training on compliance policies.
• Assist in protecting the company's intellectual property.
• Develop strategies for effective legal risk management.
• Evaluate and manage new business initiatives from a legal perspective.
• Serve as a point of contact for legal inquiries across the company.

Requirements

Education

• LLM degree specialized in Corporate Law is an advantage
• Relevant legal certificates are a plus

Experience

• At least 5 years post-admission experience in legal counsel roles or equivalent
