We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our Pretoria team. The ideal candidate will assess risk, create insurance policies, and ensure coverage meets client needs while complying with regulations. This role is crucial in safeguarding assets and providing exceptional service.

Responsibilities

• Analyze statistical data to evaluate risk factors affecting insurance policies.
• Negotiate terms and premiums with brokers and clients to achieve mutual satisfaction.
• Develop and implement improved underwriting guidelines.
• Monitor industry trends and competitor offerings to enhance our product line.
• Provide feedback and assistance to training programs for new underwriters.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance underwriting skills.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance or Risk Management
• Advanced underwriting qualifications preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in underwriting with a focus on commercial lines

Certifications

• Fellow of the Insurance Institute of South Africa (FIISA)
