Instrument Control Technician

Job Description

As an Instrument Control Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of control systems in an industrial setting. Your expertise will ensure that our systems operate efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Modify and upgrade existing control systems to achieve improved performance.
• Provide technical support for operational staff related to control system issues.
• Ensure all equipment operates within prescribed limits and performance standards.
• Participate in safety audits and compliance checks.

Requirements

Education

• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation
• Trade Certificate in Instrumentation and Control Engineering is an advantage

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in control systems

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of SCADA systems
• Electrical Schematics

Soft Skills

• Teamwork
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Safety Training Certification
• First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Familiarity with VSDs and Soft Starters: Understanding of Variable Speed Drives and Soft Starters.
• Hydraulic/Pneumatic Systems Experience: Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems will be an asset.
