Job Description

We are in search of a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Durban office. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems while ensuring compliance with industry standards. The role requires creativity and engineering expertise in a collaborative workplace.

Responsibilities

• Develop specifications for mechanical systems and components.
• Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide effective solutions.
• Oversee project timelines and deliverables, ensuring on-time completion.
• Conduct tests and evaluations on mechanical designs to ensure functionality.
• Create and maintain project documentation, including CAD drawings.
• Collaborate with suppliers and contractors for component procurement.
• Participate in design reviews and project meetings.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and advancements in mechanical engineering.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and engineering

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• Prototyping

Certifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of materials science: Understanding of material properties and selection for engineering applications.
