Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Port Elizabeth. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing various mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design and a passion for engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering specifications and designs for new products.
• Perform mechanical simulations and analyses to verify designs.
• Work closely with suppliers and vendors for material selection.
• Implement lean manufacturing practices in mechanical design.
• Coordinate with quality assurance teams to validate product performance.
• Participate in design reviews and provide feedback.
• Lead projects from conception through to implementation.
• Conduct root cause analyses for product failures and initiate corrective actions.
• Collaborate on interdisciplinary projects.
• Document all technical procedures and workflow.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Master's degree is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and engineering
