Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Urban Planner to join our Cape Town team. This role is pivotal in designing and implementing effective urban strategies that enhance community well-being and urban sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Assess urban development projects for compliance with regulations.
• Work with the design team to create conceptual plans.
• Analyze demographic data to inform planning decisions.
• Consult with various local authorities to ensure collaborative planning.
• Draft policies aimed at improving urban infrastructure.
• Engage with local communities for feedback on urban projects.
• Monitor the implementation of urban planning policies.
• Research best practices in urban development.
• Provide mentorship to junior staff and interns.
• Prepare comprehensive reports for stakeholders.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or related field
• Master's degree in Urban Planning is beneficial

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in urban planning

Certifications

• Professional Urban Planner Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
