Doctor (General Practitioner)

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Doctor (General Practitioner) to join our healthcare team in Durban. This role involves providing comprehensive medical care to patients, performing physical examinations, diagnosing illnesses, and developing treatment plans. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team committed to enhancing patient well-being and health outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ conditions and determine appropriate treatment protocols.
• Perform routine check-ups and preventative care.
• Advocate for patient health education and wellness initiatives.
• Follow up on patient progress and make treatment adjustments as needed.
• Work collaboratively in a patient-centered environment.
• Engage with community health programs as required.
• Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards in practice.
• Document all patient interactions accurately and promptly.
• Provide support during health emergencies and urgent situations.
• Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and interns.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery
• Postgraduate qualifications in Family Medicine or related field are advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a primary care setting
