Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic Tour Guides and Escorts to join our dedicated team. This role involves providing visitors with engaging information about our exhibits and ensuring they have a memorable experience at our museum.

Responsibilities

• Welcome visitors and provide an introduction to the museum's collections.
• Assist in the preparation and installation of exhibitions.
• Monitor visitor flow to ensure a smooth experience during busy periods.
• Answer visitor inquiries and provide comprehensive information about the museum’s programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Exhibition Manager.
• Foster a friendly environment ensuring all guests feel valued.
• Share stories and historical insights to enrich visitor experience.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• 1-2 years of experience in a customer service role, preferably in a museum or similar environment

Technical Skills

• Microsoft Office
• Point of Sale systems

Soft Skills

• Excellent Communication
• Friendly Demeanor
• Organizational Skills

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience in educational settings: Experience working with children or in a teaching capacity would be beneficial.
