Shoe Machine Operators and Tenders

Job Description

As a Shoe Machine Operator, you will take charge of operating and maintaining shoe manufacturing machines. Your expertise will ensure optimal production rates, while adhering to quality and safety standards. Collaborating within a dynamic team, you will play an integral role in the overall production process.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor shoe-making machinery to ensure optimal performance.
• Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain production quality.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on all machinery.
• Work alongside the team to identify and resolve production issues promptly.
• Document all machine operations and maintenance for quality control.
• Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are adhered to at all times.
• Train new operators on machine usage and safety standards.
• Maintain an organized and safe working environment.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency.
• Provide feedback on machinery performance to inform upgrades and replacements.

Requirements

Education

• Technical diploma in mechanical engineering or related field
• Further qualifications in machinery operation will be beneficial

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in machine operation within a production environment.

Technical Skills

• Experience with CNC machines
• Familiarity with quality control processes

Soft Skills

• Team collaboration
• Attention to detail

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with conveyor systems: Hands-on experience with operating and maintaining conveyor systems.
• Proficiency in additional languages: Ability to communicate in Afrikaans or other local languages is a plus.
