Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our dedicated team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will support the pharmacy by preparing medications, assisting customers, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy laws.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, label, and dispense prescribed medications.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pharmaceutical products.
• Ensure compliance with all pharmacy protocols and procedures.
• Engage with patients to promote health and wellness.
• Monitor expiration dates of medications and manage stock accordingly.
• Support pharmacist in ensuring a safe medication management system.
• Provide assistance in handling prescription refills and tracking.
• Assist with pharmacy audits and compliance checks.
• Handle pharmacy equipment and technology appropriately.
• Participate in professional development and training.

Requirements

Education

• Matriculation Certificate or equivalent
• Diploma in Pharmacy Technology is preferred

Experience

• Experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy environment is a plus
