Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Structural Engineer to oversee critical engineering projects in the Cape Town area. Your role will encompass the analysis, design and assessment of various structural elements. You will work in a team-oriented environment and contribute to the design of buildings and other facilities to meet client specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate detailed engineering designs and plan layouts for structural projects.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Provide support to site teams and participate in troubleshooting as necessary.
• Prepare reports and documentation for project findings and progress.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all projects.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or related field
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering is a plus

Experience

• 8+ years of experience in structural design and engineering

Technical Skills

• Reinforced Concrete Design
• Steel Design

Soft Skills

• Critical Thinking
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Structural Engineering License

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Advanced software skills in Revit Structure: Proficient in utilizing Revit for structural design and analysis.
• Knowledge of seismic design principles: Expertise in designing structures to withstand seismic forces.
