Job Description

As a Hydroelectric Plant Operation and Maintenance Technician, you will ensure the operational efficiency of our hydroelectric power plant. Your role will involve maintaining and repairing essential equipment, alongside performing regular inspections and troubleshooting technical issues that arise in the facility.

Responsibilities

• Optimise the performance of the hydroelectric plant and its equipment.
• Conduct troubleshooting and repairs on turbines and generators.
• Implement maintenance schedules in line with industry best practices.
• Train staff on safety protocols and equipment operation.
• Ensure accurate reporting of equipment performance metrics.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives for operational efficiency.
• Support the Engineering team in planning upgrades or modulations to existing systems.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred
• National Certificate in Electrical Engineering (NQF Level 5)

Experience

• 5+ years of experience working with large hydroelectric plants.
