Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing software quality through manual and automated testing, ensuring the reliability and performance of our software products.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium and other testing frameworks.
• Conduct performance testing to ensure application responsiveness and stability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on quality assurance best practices.
• Help drive the QA strategy for projects and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Lead testing efforts for major releases and critical production issues.
• Document and communicate test progress and results to relevant stakeholders.
• Train and mentor junior QA team members in testing methodologies.
• Assist in maintaining testing environments and setups.
• Ensure adherence to the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or related field

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, with a focus on automation

Technical Skills

• Cypress
• Postman

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Certified Agile Tester

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Knowledge of CI/CD processes and tools like Jenkins or CircleCI.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies: Experience working in Agile teams and with Scrum practices.
