Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team in Johannesburg. Your main responsibilities will include conducting individual and group counseling sessions, developing treatment plans, and providing crisis intervention to clients facing substance abuse challenges.

Responsibilities

• Create personalized care plans tailored to individual client needs.
• Lead therapeutic group discussions focused on recovery.
• Evaluate treatment effectiveness and client satisfaction.
• Facilitate connections with external support services.
• Actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Provide family therapy sessions as needed.
• Stay updated on best practices in substance abuse treatment.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and ethical standards.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology
• Relevant certifications in specific areas of counseling preferred (e.g. trauma-focused therapy)

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the mental health field
