Job Description

As the Highway Commissioner, you will oversee the planning, construction, maintenance, and operations of highways in South Africa. You will lead a team of professionals dedicated to enhancing road infrastructure and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of the road network.
  • Coordinate with various teams to ensure project goals and deadlines are met.
  • Monitor compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and address public concerns.
  • Assess highway system performance and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with contractors.
  • Oversee the financial management of highway infrastructure projects.
  • Evaluate new technologies for infrastructure improvement.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering is preferred
Experience
  • Experience in public-private partnerships (PPPs) is advantageous
