Health Environmentalist

Job Description

The Health Environmentalist will ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote healthy living through effective environmental interventions. This role requires evaluating environmental conditions to provide actionable insights and develop policies that benefit public health and the environment.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate public meetings and workshops on environmental health.
• Serve as a liaison between government agencies, community organizations, and health officials.
• Analyze policies and regulations affecting environmental health.
• Evaluate the impact of environmental interventions on community health metrics.
• Conduct field investigations and environmental monitoring.
• Provide expert advice on health risk assessments related to environmental exposures.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health or Public Health
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in environmental health

Technical Skills

• GIS Software Proficiency
• Public Speaking

Soft Skills

• Analytical Thinking
• Leadership

Certifications

• Certified Environmental Health Practitioner (CEHP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in public health and/or epidemiology: Experience in public health or epidemiology is highly regarded.
• Knowledge of climate change impacts on public health: Understanding how environmental changes affect community health.
