Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a proactive Structural Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. You will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity of various projects, collaborating closely with architects and contractors to deliver outstanding results. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in structural design and a keen understanding of building materials and construction methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design efforts for residential and commercial projects.
• Prepare reports and documentation for regulatory submissions.
• Review and evaluate project specifications and plans for accuracy.
• Ensure design calculations meet project requirements and safety standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns in design methodologies.
• Participate in stakeholder meetings to present design solutions.
• Identify opportunities for design optimization and cost savings.
• Support project teams during construction with technical expertise.
• Conduct research on new materials and technologies for structural applications.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality standards.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in structural design and analysis

• SAP2000
• ETABS

Certifications
