Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for an innovative Mechanical Engineer who will play a key role in the design and implement mechanical projects while ensuring compliance with industry standards. This position involves collaborative work with project teams, and the engineer will be involved in the review and approval of engineering designs and plans.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement testing protocols for mechanical products.
• Analyze project data to improve existing designs.
• Supervise junior engineers and provide mentorship.
• Ensure effective communication among project teams to achieve goals.
• Act as a liaison with clients to determine project requirements and specifications.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Master’s degree preferred in Mechanical Engineering or related fields

Experience

• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Project Management Tools (MS Project, Trello)

Soft Skills

• Analytical Skills
• Leadership

Certifications

• Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA)
• Lean Six Sigma Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Industry 4.0: Awareness of Industry 4.0 trends, including IoT and AI integration.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing: Exposure to lean manufacturing principles and methodologies.
