Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our dedicated team in Port Elizabeth. In this role, you will assess and evaluate insurance applications to determine risks and set appropriate insurance rates. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset and the ability to make sound decisions swiftly. Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal business while ensuring profitability.
• Research and gather data to identify potential market opportunities.
• Assist in developing underwriting guidelines and procedures.
• Train and mentor junior underwriters and support staff.
• Review and respond to underwriting audits and compliance checks.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and developments.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Actuarial Science
• Certification in underwriting will be an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years in insurance underwriting or related roles
