Job Description

As a Veterinary Assistant and Laboratory Animal Caretaker, you will be responsible for the daily care of animals in a veterinary and laboratory setting. This role involves feeding, grooming, and ensuring the overall health and well-being of a variety of animal species.

Responsibilities

• Assist with feeding and caring for sick or injured animals in veterinary clinics or laboratories.
• Conduct health monitoring and behavioral assessments of animals daily.
• Participate in educational programs about animal care and welfare.
• Collaborate with veterinary professionals to support animal health and rehabilitation.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards in animal handling and treatment.
• Maintain records of animal health, treatments, and progress.
• Participate in cleaning and maintenance of veterinary and lab facilities.
• Engage with potential adopters to educate them on proper animal care.
• Provide companionship and support for animals to reduce stress.
• Assist in preparing animals for surgery or other medical procedures.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate in Animal Care or Veterinary Science

Experience

• Experience with various animal species is an advantage.
