Architectural Technologist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Architectural Technologist to join our team in Cape Town. In this role, you will be responsible for producing technical drawings and specifications, ensuring compliance with building regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing projects from conception through to completion, showcasing their ability to adapt to various challenges.

Responsibilities

• Draft architectural drawings and 3D models using software such as AutoCAD or Revit.
• Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
• Review and analyze project documentation for accuracy.
• Assist in the development of design concepts and solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of design changes and project milestones.
• Provide technical support and training to junior staff.
• Contribute to sustainable design initiatives within projects.
• Review contractor submissions and ensure compliance with design intent.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field
• Postgraduate qualification is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in architectural design or technology

• SketchUp
• BIM Management

Soft Skills

• Time Management
• Attention to Detail

Certifications

• Registered Architectural Technologist (RAT)
• LEED Green Associate is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent
• isiXhosa: Conversational

• Proficiency in graphic design software: Experience with software such as Adobe Creative Suite for presentations.
• Advanced BIM skills: Expertise in using BIM software for project management.
